We been working hard for the past three weeks designing and producing cards for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Graduation.  I am so proud of this group of adults, as they are producing an average of 50 cards every Friday afternoon and selling them to as many people as possible.  At this, point, they sold all the Mother's Day cards they made, save for about 4 and we expect the same for Father's Day and Graduation.  The are realizing that one of kind cards are so different from what we buy at Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, or Hallmark.  I've been trying to teach them and to encourage them to dream big, nothing should hold them back just because they are disabled.  They are quite capable of working to own their own small businesses and I sit back and wonder where the dreams will take us next.  As you check out the pages, you will see the dress designs for mother's day and Mom's Birthday cards  http://www.weebly.com/uploads/7/0/0/6/7006363/5335771.jpg.  While you are browsing you must also check out the pair of shoes, I mean what women doesn't like a beautiful pair of shoes; http://www.weebly.com/uploads/7/0/0/6/7006363/9896826.jpg.  I know I sound like a broken record, but it is awesome to watch the young adults create their works.  Within the next few weeks, we will be moving on to crafts; birdhouses, napkin rings, and who knows what else.  And I know you are wondering what the profits are for, well we are a non-profit company.  Our mission is to continue the life skills teaching of these young adults, provide learning experiences, vocational training, and recreational opportunities, so I'm sure that Space Center Houston, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and other type venues will be visited this summer.
